This paper aims to discuss some theoretical issues currently emerging in the field of Italian intercultural education research, with special reference to the language of “community” within “educating communities” policies and practices.
The paper will draw on literature from the field of governmentality studies to presenting some features of the language of “community” in today educational discourses, and to analyze the role that “educating communities” are expected to play within diverse educational contexts
