The paper illustrates the educational and didactic experimentation conceived by Aurelia Josz in Milan, starting in 1902, to offer a qualified professional training course to girls. The article first briefly analyses some significant aspects of the debate that developed in Italy at the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century on the women’s education and the role of girls in the field of agriculture. It then examines the position of Aurelia Josz and the innovative elements of her experimentation, within the lively cultural and pedagogical context of the time.
