Construction of school memories and social networks: the Facebook group of “former students” in a case study

Abstract

To what extent, under what conditions, and within what limits is it possible to attribute to the discussions and materials posted online by a group of former students of an educational institute the value of a laboratory of school memories? To what extent can such content be useful to the work of the historian of education? In this regard, the essay offers a case study considered as an indicator of possible answers to the questions raised.
