Abstract

In the society of images and digital revolution, reality may lose its consistency: the labor of relationship turns to the plethora of contacts, the search for truth to the game of opinions, the achievement of knowledge to the consumption of information. In the face of this dismantlement of the world, phenomenology promises to rediscover meaning and value of things in the “things themselves”, by proposing a pedagogy of the reason based on the strict exercise of paying attention and taking position. In this endeavor the emotional life plays a key role: making accessible the axiological dimension of reality. Since the world and its possibilities are always opened up by an emotional tone or mood, taking care of our affectivity arises as an educational aim of the utmost importance.
