The secondary school responsible for cultural transmission and diffusion of social values is called to promote pluralism and respect for diversity. Intercultural education represents a delicate and complex educational project of harmonious coexistence between people from different cultural backgrounds in an authentically fair and supportive society. The secondary school should educate students to mutual respect, dialogue and recognition of the dignity of the person as such.
